• I chose to publish this book in the form of a website because it allows me to make the book widely accessible without having to commercially publish it. I just don’t want money changing hands for what I have to share. In other words, this book is being presented to you as a website because…
  • a website is the least expensive form in which I can deliver the book to you, and
  • a website allows you to go ahead and have the book while I am still working on it.
• There are many good English translations of the Bible, but I – like many others – primarily use the New American Standard Bible (NASB) 1995 because it is arguably the translation that adheres most closely to the original Hebrew and Greek texts.

• I encourage people beginning to read the Bible to always start with the New Testament. Only go to the Old Testament once you feel you have a pretty good understanding of the New Testament. The reason for this is that Jesus is the one who teaches us how to read the Old Testament. For this same reason, if you see me listing chapter and verse citations (such as John 3:16 and Gen 1:1), I usually put the NT citations first.
• Sometimes I capitalize the pronouns referring to Jesus, sometimes I don’t. When I’m talking about the life he lived on earth – that is, speaking historically – I generally use lower-case pronouns for him. But when I’m speaking of Him ruling as God, I usually capitalize His pronouns.
