BSN: Baal

Simply put, Baal was a false god.
A “Baal” was a “lord.” Just as there were various “lords,” “gods,” and “idols” among pagan peoples, so there were multiple “Baals.”
Mentioned in combination with Asherah – Judg 6:25, 26, 28, 30 and elsewhere
By New Testament times, one of the forms that the term ended up taking was “Beelzebul.” (See it at Satan)
