- At His trial before the Sanhedrin, all sort of false testimony against Him was presented. Because it was false, there was insufficient corroboration and none of the charges were sticking. In desperation, the presiding priest asked Jesus point blank if He was the Messiah. He answered in the affirmative, quoting two well-known passages of Jewish Scripture. Both the question and the two-pronged answered are recorded in Matt 26:63-64 and Mark 14:61-62.
- Milestone #1 – Psalm 110:1 – Seated at the right hand of God. This scripture would be fulfilled 40 days after Jesus’ resurrection from the dead when He ascended into heaven. Milestone #1 was the revelation that Jesus was Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36).
- Milestone #2 – Dan 7:13-14 – Coming in the clouds. – This scripture would be fulfilled at the Second Coming, which was, of course, the coming of the kingdom of God. Jesus also used this passage from Daniel to describe His coming to His disciples in His Olivet Discourse. Milestone #2 was the revelation that Jesus was God and Father (Isaiah 9:6).
- While both of these milestones had enormous implications for the physical dimension of the universe, they took place in its spiritual dimension and could not be witnessed with physical eyesight.
