BSN: PARABLE

A parable is a very short story used to illustrate a point. It’s a form of analogy. Jesus was noted for his parables as a teacher; however, parables did not originate in the New Testament. They were commonly used by the prophets (Ps 78:2; Ezek 20:49), the Lord being their source (Hos 12:10).
