- 1 Kings 4:7 – King Solomon appointed twelve deputies over all Israel, each one providing for a month in the year.
- Mk 3:14 – Jesus appointed twelve men as His apostles. They were called simply “the twelve” in Jn 6:70 and multiple other places.
- Mk 8:19-20 – Jesus disciples picked up twelve baskets full of broken pieces after He fed the 5,000, and seven baskets full of broken pieces after He fed the 4,000.
- In John 11:9, Jesus asked “Are there not twelve hours in the day?”
- In Acts 6, seven men were chosen to oversee the daily serving of food. They were called simply “the seven” in Acts 21:8.
- The apostle Paul wrote 14 letters (that is, seven doubled).
- The apostle Paul wrote his letters to seven different churches. (Paul’s other letters were to Timothy (2), Titus, Philemon, and the Hebrews.)
