The events are listed in the order in which they occurred, as best as I can determine them. The dates used in the headings are rounded off and used mainly to break up the list and give a general sense of the dating – not to assign exact years. If you are searching for a particular story and know the person’s name but don’t know the general dating, just use the Control/Command F function on your keyboard to search the name (such as Joseph, Mephibosheth, Ichabod, Elisha, and so on). “Notes and Sources” are at the bottom of this page.

Notes and Sources
My goal was to provide a searchable list that would allow parents to trace a character or event mentioned in a children’s Bible story book to where it is located in the actual Bible. An adult can also scroll the list to gain a sense of the flow of history from Adam and Eve to the time of Jesus. There are 378 OT stories indexed, some very short, but I wanted the history to be comprehensive and I wanted any name that might be in a children’s Bible story book to show up. I added over a dozen key NT events, but I don’t think a comprehensive index for it is as necessary since the BRP has us reading through the NT four times a year. I’m still on track to complete the entire BSN – of which the BSN History Index is just a part – this year.
