The expression “last days” and “latter days” both direct here.
Israel’s prophets spoke of what would happen in “the last days.” This expression refers to the last days of ancient Israel. The fulfillment of those prophecies are what we have recorded in the New Testament. In other words, the history we read in the New Testament is the fulfillment of the prophecies we read in the Old Testament.
