Notice how the posture of Jesus in the following verses is similar: Matt 11:28-30; 23:37-39; Luke 13:34-35.
Notice how this posture matches how we imagine Jesus hanging on the cross, with His arms open wide. Think also of John 12:32-33. And there’s John 6:37, too.
In fact, the only time I can think of right now that we have Jesus turning away people coming to Him is Matt 7:21-23 in the Sermon on the Mount. Of course, the reason for His unwelcoming stance in that case is the unwillingness of those coming to Him to care about righteousness…which is what Jesus is all about!
