BSN: traditions

  • “Traditions” are spoken of both positively and negatively in the New Testament. Here is an account of every occurrence of literal word “tradition” in the NASB:
    • OT: Is 29:13 e
    • NT: (Strong’s Greek 3862 13x)
      • Jesus:
        • Mt 15:2, 3, 6 – negative
        • Mk 7:3, 5, 8, 9, 13 – negative
      • Paul:
        • Gal 1:14; Col 2:8 – negative
        • 1 Cor 11:2; 2 Th 2:15; 3:6 – positive
      • Apostolic traditions (as opposed to “the traditions of men”) included the Lord’s Supper.
