BSN: two or three witnesses

  • 2 Cor 13:1 This is the third time I am coming to you. EVERY FACT IS TO BE CONFIRMED BY THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES.

  • Jesus instituted a process leading to repentance or ostracism based on the “two or three witnesses” principle: Mt 18:15-20; 2 Th 3:14-15; 1 Tim 5:19-20; Tit 3:10-11; see: 1 Cor 5 correlated with 2 Cor 2:1-11.
  • Jesus prayed three times in the garden of Gethsemane in order to settle the tension between His will and His Father’s.
