BSN: WILL

God has a will and it is good – Rom 12:2
– We should seek to know God’s will – Col 1:9
– We should do God’s will – Mark 3:35; Eph 6:6; Heb 10:36
– It’s not enough just to say we’ll do God’s will – Matt 21:28-31
Every human being has a will – 2 Pet 1:19-21
– Jesus exercised human will while on earth – Lk 22:42; Jn 7:1
– That will can be collective as well as individual – Lk 23:25
– Even our flesh (lusts, desires) seems to have a will of its own – John 1:13; Rom 7:15
– Our flesh (lusts, desires) is opposed to the will of God – 1 Pet 4:1-2; 1 John 2:17
– Our will is thus encumbered by our flesh – Mt 26:41; Mk 14:38
– We can be unwilling to believe – Lk 22:67; 24:11; Jn 4:48; 20:25; Act 13:40-41
– Satan has a will – 2 Tim 2:24-26
– We should submit our will to God’s, not Satan’s – Matt 6:10; 26:39; Mark 14:36; Luke 22:42
– The Scriptures speak often of “doing His will” – Mt 6:10; 7:21; 12:50; 21:31; 26:42; Mk 3:35; Jn 4:34; 6:38; 7:17; 9:31; Act 13:22; 21:14; Eph 6:6; Heb 10:7, 9, 36; 13:21; 1 Jn 2:17; Ezr 7:18; 10:11; Ps 40:8; 103:21; 143:10
– Nothing less than actually doing His will matters – Mt 21:28-32; 23:1-3; Jn 13:17
