My name is Michael David Gantt. My friends usually call me Mike, and sometimes Michael. I was born in 1951 in Columbia, South Carolina. I was a Christian pastor for about 15 years of my working life and a business executive before and after that. I’m retired from both now.

In the box at the bottom of this page – and on practically every other page of this book – you can ask me a question or make a comment about anything I’ve written. You can even do so anonymously, if you wish. If appropriate, I’ll respond.

This book consist of the most important things I have learned about Jesus Christ and the Bible.

Bear in mind that I’m a nobody…and that’s the point. I’m writing simply as one man to another. Although I have a couple of seminary degrees, I’m not writing about things I learned from those institutions. Rather, I’m writing about what I’ve learned from simply reading, studying, and practicing the Bible – something anyone can do. Including you.

There’s nothing beyond this book (that is, beyond this website) that I have to give you. You don’t need to join anything. You don’t need to give me any information about yourself, and I certainly don’t want your money. In other words, everything you find on this site is yours to keep and to help you grow your relationship with the Lord, not with me.

I chose to publish this book in the form of a website because it allows me to make the book widely accessible without having to commercially publish it. I just don’t want money changing hands for what I have to share. In other words, this book is being presented to you as a website because…

  1. a website is the least expensive form in which I can deliver the book to you, and
  2. a website allows you to go ahead and have the book while I am still working on it.

This book represents all the important things I have learned about God and the Bible during my lifetime. I regularly work on the book to make it better. I catalog the changes as I make them. To keep up with the latest, see Daily Help.

I also keep a modest YouTube presence.

You do not need me, but you do need Jesus Christ and the Bible. We all do.
