(I make daily additions to the website in addition to what you see below because it would be too tedious everything catalog here. For example, I usually make a daily contribution to Overflow. I also publish a YouTube video every day. A “Recommended Read” is not something new, but rather something I want to be sure you have either read or re-read.)
Special note about Bible Reading Plans for 2026: Of the four plans published on Daily Help, there are only a couple that are changing.
- Plan Two: New Testament + Psalms – This is a very minor change. This plan takes us through all the Psalms twice a year. There are some leftover days in the year and I switched out some of the Psalms just in that section, making sure they were all among the most quoted Psalms in the New Testament. (Of the 55 psalms in that part of the plan, only 12 changed; everything else in the plan is the same.)
- Plan Three: New Testament + History – Last year this plan was primarily Old Testament history with Luke and Acts added for New Testament history. Going forward this plan will be exclusively OT history. I learned this year from experience that there was no need to repeat Luke-Acts again, and the switch allowed me to include more OT history in the plan.
Between now and December 31, both the plans for 2025 and for 2026 (including the printable versions) will show up at the two links above. On December 31, I’ll remove the 2025 plans.
Dated Notes
- Saturday, December 6, 2025 – As you may have noticed, I have not be able to keep up with my commitments for daily content creation (Essays, Overflow, YouTube, etc.). The demands on my time have become such that I have to take a break because I’m just not able to keep up. I need to rest, focus on some critical projects, and then recalibrate how much new content I can realistically produce on a daily basis. The daily Bible Reading Plans and all the supporting material (audio companion, written companion, etc.) will still be here for you until I’m ready to resume regular content creation. (You’ll still see new content on my YouTube channel for a couple of weeks because I recorded them weeks ago.) When I resume, I post notice of it here.

- Thursday, November 6, 2025 – Supplemented and revised the notes to chapter 15 of the BSN notes on the Gospel of Mark.
- Wednesday, November 5, 2025 – A previous essay: The Extraordinary 1st-Century Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (7 min).
- Monday, November 3, 2025 – BSN Glossary of Things addition titled “Elements of the Heart.” This includes citations for words like THINK, THOUGHT, and MIND.
- Friday, October 31, 2025 – A previous essay: What Does the New Testament’s Table of Contents Tell Us? (10 min). At ten minutes, this essay runs a little long, but I think it is one of the most useful I’ve ever written for building faith in Jesus. Most people have no idea how reliable the New Testament is as a historical record of Jesus. There’s no better basis for faith in Him.
- Tuesday, October 28, 2025 – Today I got the main library page back to where it’s better constructed and more useful.
- Monday, October 27, 2025 – Writing or revising an essay each day for the last couple of weeks has led to my tinkering with the organizational structure of the library. Sorry for the construction work, but it’s a function of the job. (Eccl 12:9 …the Preacher…pondered, searched out and arranged many proverbs. – emphasis added)
- Sunday, October 26, 2025 – A previous essay: Lunatic, Liar, Lord…or Legend? (6 min)

- Thursday, October 23, 2025 – A new essay: The Apostles Have the Keys (4 min)
- Wednesday, October 22, 2025 –
- A new essay: The Apostolic Age (3 min)
- After writing a new essay daily in eight of the last nine days, I’ve realized that making every single one a 3-minute read is too tight a target. Therefore, I’m revising the target to be 5 minutes or less. The bull’s eye will still be 3 min, but this wider range will give me some flexibility so that I don’t spend precious writing time trying to increase what I’ve written from 2 minutes to 3, or decrease it from 4 or 5 minutes to 3. I’ll keep aiming for the bull’s eye, but it’ll land where it lands…within the limits of 5 minutes or less. I hope that meets with your approval.
- Tuesday, October 21, 2025 – A new essay: The Gospel According to John Doe (3 min)
- Monday, October 20, 2025 – A previous essay: “One Solitary Life” as an Encapsulation of the History of Jesus (2 min)
- Sunday, October 19, 2025 – A new essay: The Holy Spirit Is for Everyone (3 min)
- Saturday, October 18, 2025 – A new essay: Beer-lahai-roi (3 min)
- Friday, October 17, 2025 – A new essay: The Easiest-to-Understand Parts of the Book of Revelation (3 min)
- Thursday, October 16, 2025 – A new essay: Did Jesus Prophesy Falsely of the Second Coming? (3 min)
- Wednesday, October 15, 2025 – A new essay: The Greatest Generation of Them All (3 min)
- Tuesday, October 14, 2025 – A new essay: The One True Church (3 min)
- Monday, October 13, 2025 – A new essay: The First and Last Verses of the Bible (3 min)
- Sunday, October 12, 2025 – A month or so ago, I decided to focus on producing more short essays (3 minutes to read, on average, is my target), but I have had a hard time making good on that intention – mainly because I haven’t given them priority over the other content I produce for this site. Beginning tomorrow, I’m going to make essays the highest priority of my writing. I intend produce one a day for you. On the days when that’s not possible, I intend to recommend one of my previous previous essays for you to read (or re-read, as the case may be). My output on other writing (such as Bible Study Notes additions, Overflow, etc.) may decrease as a result, but I think a daily short essay will be of more benefit to more people over time.
- Wednesday, October 1, 2025 –
- Recommended Read: “Dispensing with the History-Denying “Jesus Mythicists” (7 min)
- I’ve decided to convert Bible Studies into BSN Glossary entries – where they are a better fit. I’ll report here when that conversion is complete. Thereafter, I’ll continue adding entries, but not on a daily basis.
- Tuesday, September 30, 2025 – Recommended Read: “Why Did It Take 300 Years to Form the New Testament?” (5 min)
- Monday, September 29, 2025 – Today, I adjusted the naming of the three library wings (Main Library Page), and began the rearrangement of content where appropriate. This structure follows the three sections of The Duty of a Man as identified in its table of contents. My goal is to make the content on this site more accessible, and less intimidating. Further toward this end, I removed all the library wing links from the master (alphabetized) list of essays because they just seemed to clutter the page. For the readers’ sakes, such links – if needed at all – would be better placed within each essay at the end.
- Sunday, September 28, 2025 –
- Recommended Read: “Understanding How the New Testament Arose (a 7-min read; for more essays and other resources on this subject, see LW2)
- Having gotten the number of library wings down to three (Main Library Page), I’m now going to align them to the three sections of The Duty of a Man. This could be difficult, so I don’t know at this point how time-consuming the transition might turn out to be. Will keep you posted here.
- Saturday, September 27, 2025 –
- Recommended Read: “The Most Potent Lie of the Last 75 Years“(a 6-min essay; for more essays and other resources on this subject, see LW2)
- I eliminated a fourth library wing today. It focused on “Ministers of the Gospel” and this content can currently be found at the bottom of Library Wing 3.
- Friday, September 26, 2025 – I eliminated a third library wing today. So far, all the content (on Conscience, The Holy Spirit, and Prayer) of those three wings has been moved to, and combined with, the information already there under those headings in the BSN Glossary (“Conscience” and “Prayer” in BSN Glossary: Things, and “The Holy Spirit” in BSN Glossary: The Spiritual Realm.” test
- Thursday, September 25, 2025 – If you check out the main Library page, you’ll see that I’ve already eliminated two “library wings,” parking the respective content appropriate places in the BSN Glossary. The content in both cases was too limited to justify separate library wings.
- Wednesday, September 24, 2025 – Increasingly, I have been feeling that the content of this site can be overwhelming for visitors, and that, because of this, I need simpler and more effective ways of organizing it. Yet I have to do so in ways that won’t excessively disrupt the people who have succeeded in finding their way around. Some ideas for improvement came to me in the night, but it could take me anywhere from a couple of days to a week or so to implement them. As I make progress, I’ll report it on this page. Once I get the existing material better organized, I think I’ll be able to add new material at a more rapid rate.
- Tuesday, September 23, 2025 – Recommended Read: “How Were Ancient Churches Able to Agree on the Contents of the New Testament?” (a 4-min essay; for more essays and other resources on this subject, see LW2)
- Monday, September 22, 2025 – Recommended Read: “Objections to Using the New Testament as Historical Evidence (a 3-min essay; for more essays and other resources on this subject, see LW2)
- Sunday, September 21, 2025 – I figured out how to automatically place the Lockman Foundation’s copyright notice for the New American Standard Bible 1995 (NASB 1995) at the bottom of every single page of this website. If a more accurate American English translation ever arises, use it. But until then, use the NASB 1995. (Even the NASB 2020 wasn’t as faithful to the original texts as the NASB 1995.)
- Saturday, September 20, 2025 – Recommended Read: “Has God Spoken” (a 5-min essay; for more essays and other resources on this subject, see LW2)
- Wednesday, September 10, 2025 – I’ve combined two pages – “Current Bible Studies” and “Past Bible Studies” – into one called simply “Bible Studies.” The explanation of how they came to be two pages in the first place is not worth your time.
- Sunday, September 7, 2025 – See in the first paragraph above that I’ve started adding “Bible Studies.” These will usually be short studies that individuals, families, or small groups can do when the subject matter is of interest. It’ll be a hands on exercise, giving you experience in navigating through your Bible and connecting dots. There’s a link to Bible Studies” at the top of the “Overflow” page.
- Saturday, September 6, 2025 – I just published a list of over a couple of dozen references in the Gospels of Jesus’ disciples not understanding Him: Jesus Not Understood by His Disciples. We shouldn’t feel alone if we don’t immediately understand everything we read in the Bible.
- Wednesday, September 3, 2025 – For those with the time and inclination, I’m going to build a list of Bible Studies.
- Monday, September 1, 2025 – I added a definition of “neighbor” to BSN Glossary: Things to help with commandments like “Love your neighbor.”
- Sunday, August 31, 2025 – I added citations for the Second Coming as a revelation in Scriptural Proofs. It was a revelation of Jesus Christ – that God had become human for a while, that He might become God again forever. This was to win back the creation that had been stolen from Him.
- Saturday, August 30, 2025 – For those with interest in such things, I added some data to the codex note in The New Testament Before Faith (NTBF).
- Thursday, August 28, 2025 – I segregated several parts of Bible Study Notes (BSN) under the heading of “BSN Lists.” In doing so, I added a link to them for what I’m calling a “Compendium on the New Testament Before Faith (NTBF).” It will take me months to bring these resources to the state where they’re fully useful…and even then, they won’t be for everyone. Nevertheless, if you want to check any of it out now, go to BSN Table of Contents.
- Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – New essay: Zion (6 min).
- Tuesday, August 19, 2025 – Converted my Bible Study Notes on X and XL into a short essay. (I filed it in Library Wing 1, which is about the Gospel, and in the alphabetical directory of Essays.)
- Sunday, August 17, 2025 – Added some information to BSN: ON HYPOCRISY.
- Saturday, August 16, 2025 – Extended BSN: ON IDOLATRY to include chapter and verse locations for Aaron’s golden calf and Jeroboam’s two golden calves.
- Friday, August 15, 2025 – Added and linked BSN: ON RANSOM AND RELATED CONCEPTS (such as: redeemed, bought, cost).
- Thursday, August 14, 2025 – Established and linked BSN: ON FEAR (Tersely documents the apostles’ zero-tolerance policy toward fear).
- Wednesday, August 13, 2025 – Revised and extended BSN: ON TYPES, SHADOWS, AND SUCH.
- Sunday, August 10, 2025 – I added some notes on the subject of “doubt” to Bible Study Notes (BSN).
- Wednesday, August 6, 2025 – I’ve made Daily Help a static page so that I don’t have to update it every morning. I’ll use the freed-up time to produce more useful content for the site – which will, of course, be cataloged here.
- Saturday, August 2, 2025 – Added a library wing on “Conscience.” See on the main Library page, “Wing 4.” The content I’ve posted in this wing so far is meager but I will build on it over time. My current expectation is that the number of wings will remain at seven indefinitely.
- Tuesday, July 29, 2025 – Completed the master list of all essays, described just below.
- Tuesday, July 22, 2025 – Added to the main Library page two links: 1) to a master list of all essays, and 2) to a master list of all books. The essay list is only one-third complete. I’ll post a notice on this page when this project is complete. I wanted readers to be able to get quickly to essays and books without having to dig through the various library wings which are, of course, categorized by subject matter.
- Monday, July 21, 2025 – Streamlined the main Library page.
- Saturday, June 28, 2025 – Had some interactions with a reader yesterday.
- Wednesday, June 25, 2025 – Added to “Short Bible Studies,” and changed the name to “Short Bible Word Studies.” It’s a little clunky, but more descriptive. I also added a brief description at the top.
- Friday, June 20, 2025 – In the early days of the Internet, website builders would post “Under Construction” on certain pages of a website to indicate that content was coming. Some visitors to such websites became so frustrated with this practice that webmasters have larger abandoned it. I’ve tried to avoid it, too. However, for multiple reasons not worth taking your time to explain, I am using it now on the “Essays on Righteousness: Faith and Love” page. I’m not posting the words “Under Construction” but I am posting the titles of articles that I’m in the process of writing. I won’t post such article names on this page until the article is finished and the link is activated.
- Sunday, June 15, 2025 – Broke out the essays in the library section labeled “Righteousness: Faith” into “Before Faith,” Acquiring Faith,” and “Practicing Faith.” Faith is a critically important subject from God’s point of view and I intend to fill each of these sections with additional essays to shed more light on the subject. Our goal is to have a faith that pleases our Father in heaven.
- Saturday, June 14, 2025 – Cleaned up the Library page, especially the “Righteousness” section which now puts together the “Faith” and “Love” sections while keeping them distinguished from each other.
- Thursday, June 12, 2025 – Previously, Daily Help was a scrolling page, with each day and its specific information appearing one after the other. Going forward, Daily Help will be a static page with all data that changes being controlled at the links. Exceptions are that the day/date near the top will change daily, as will the word of encouragement at the end.
- Thursday, June 12, 2025 – Previously, I had been logging additions and changes to the website on Daily Help. Going forward, those archives will be below on this page.
- Thursday, June 12, 2025 – I posted an item to Interactions Elsewhere.
- Wednesday, June 11, 2025 – Moved link to Overflow from top of Verse, Audio, Video page to Daily Help.
- Tuesday, June 10, 2025 – I’ve added a playlist of “Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs” to my YouTube channel.
- Monday, June 9, 2025 – I’ve begun a list of Short Bible Studies for you, and added it to the Bible Reader’s Toolkit.
