Luke indicates his presence in certain passages of the book of Acts with the pronoun “we.” All these references were brief and associated with Paul’s travels. They begin appearing during Paul’s “second missionary journey,” shortly after the separation of Paul and Barnabas.
- They are found in five chapters 16, 20, 21, 27, 28
- By one source: 16:10-17, 20:5-21:18; 27:1-28:16.
- By another: 16:10–17; 20:5–15; 21:1–8; 27:1–28:16
- By yet another: 16:10-18; 20:4-21:19; 27:1-28:30
- I presume…
- the differences between the sources are due to different English translations being consulted.
- any count of the “we” passages include “us” and “our” passages, but I have not personally verified that.
